The headline of the article I have read is «Is coffee really good for you?» This article is written by Sue Quinn and published in http://www.theguardian.com on November 17. The purpose of the article is to give the readers some new information on coffee and try to understand whether it is useful.
The author starts by telling the reader about some scientific researches which tell us that coffee addiction is not bad for our health. She says that according to Harvard School of public health, coffee contains hundreds of different compaunds: some are good for human health, others aren't. Then, Sue writes about diseases, health risks and some other problems which can be occur after the frequent using of coffee. For example, it is not a myth that coffee really does disrupt our sleep. The author advised not to drink it for at least six hours before going to bed. Further, the author says about heart diseases. But there are some positive aspects, for example, various studies have linked higher caffeine intake to a “significantly” reduced risk of developing diseases that involve degeneration of brains cells including Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and Multiple Sclerosis. She said that as for researches there are risks after the drinking of coffee as raised blood pressure and cholesterol, but also according to the article drinking 3 to 5 cups of coffee a day was associated with less calcium build-up in the arteries. After that Sue writes about mortality and diabetes. She uses some statistics as example, tell us about interesting researches and according to the text some studies suggest that people who have diabetes might be better opting for decaffeinated coffee. The author comes to the conclusion that there are a lot of types of coffee and while research pointing to the potential health benefits of coffee is growing – it is very important to concern about cholesterol and other health risks. In spite of everything more research is needed before doctors actually recomended drinking coffee to reduce the risk of developing deseases.
I found the article interesting and important because I, my friends and some of my relatives drink a lot of coffee every day.
And I would like to ask my groupmates – Is it necessary for you – to drink coffee every day?

ОтветитьУдалитьAs for me, coffee is very tasty beverage, but I don't drink it every day. But when I drink it, I enjoy this wonderful drink and its amazing taste. And it's really great to have a cup of coffee sitting near the window at home or with a company of your friends or collegues.
But you should always remember, that it influences your heart.
